Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of SENTD's email delivery service. Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

1. Purpose

SENTD is designed for sending transactional emails - messages triggered by user actions or system events that deliver information recipients expect to receive. This policy ensures the quality and reputation of our email delivery infrastructure for all customers.

Email service providers share infrastructure across customers. A single bad actor can damage deliverability for everyone. This policy exists to protect all SENTD customers and ensure reliable email delivery.

2. Permitted Uses

You may use SENTD to send the following types of transactional emails:

Account-Related

  • Account verification emails
  • Password reset requests
  • Two-factor authentication codes
  • Account security alerts
  • Profile update confirmations

Commerce

  • Order confirmations
  • Shipping notifications
  • Delivery updates
  • Payment receipts
  • Invoice delivery

Notifications

  • System status updates
  • Service alerts
  • Appointment reminders
  • Event notifications
  • Activity summaries

Communication

  • Support ticket updates
  • Message notifications
  • Comment replies
  • Collaboration invites
  • Team notifications

3. Prohibited Uses

The following uses of SENTD are strictly prohibited:

3.1 Spam and Unsolicited Email

  • Unsolicited bulk email (spam) - Sending emails to recipients who have not explicitly opted in
  • Purchased or rented lists - Using email lists obtained from third parties
  • Scraped addresses - Using email addresses harvested from websites or other sources
  • Cold outreach - Sending unsolicited sales or marketing emails
  • List bombing - Deliberately causing addresses to receive unwanted emails

3.2 Prohibited Content Types

  • Illegal content - Content that violates any applicable law
  • Phishing - Emails designed to deceive recipients into revealing sensitive information
  • Malware distribution - Emails containing viruses, trojans, or malicious links
  • Fraud and scams - Deceptive emails including advance-fee fraud, lottery scams
  • Harassment - Threatening, abusive, or harassing content
  • Hate speech - Content promoting violence or discrimination
  • Adult content - Pornographic or sexually explicit material
  • Counterfeit goods - Promoting fake or counterfeit products
  • Regulated substances - Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or illegal weapons

3.3 Deceptive Practices

  • Spoofing - Falsifying sender information or headers
  • Misleading subject lines - Using deceptive subjects to trick recipients
  • Hidden identity- Concealing or misrepresenting the sender's identity
  • False affiliations - Falsely implying affiliation with other companies or organizations
  • Impersonation - Pretending to be someone else or another company

3.4 Technical Abuse

  • Circumventing limits - Attempting to bypass rate limits or quotas
  • Multiple accounts - Creating multiple accounts to evade restrictions
  • API abuse - Using the API in ways not intended or documented
  • Network disruption - Attempting to disrupt our services or infrastructure
  • Unauthorized access - Accessing accounts or systems without authorization

3.5 High-Risk Industries

The following industries require prior approval and may be subject to additional restrictions:

  • Cryptocurrency and blockchain
  • Online gambling and gaming
  • Financial services and lending
  • Pharmaceuticals and health supplements
  • Dating and relationship services
  • Multi-level marketing (MLM)
  • Affiliate marketing

4. Sending Requirements

4.1 Consent Requirements

All recipients must have:

  • Voluntarily provided their email address to you
  • Consented to receive the specific type of email you are sending
  • Not unsubscribed or opted out of your communications

4.2 Email Content Requirements

All emails must include:

  • Accurate "From" and "Reply-To" addresses
  • Non-deceptive subject lines that reflect the email content
  • Clear identification of the sender
  • A valid physical mailing address (for commercial emails)
  • A functioning unsubscribe mechanism (where required by law)

4.3 Sending Thresholds

You must maintain healthy sending metrics:

4.4 Domain Authentication

For optimal deliverability and compliance, you should:

  • Verify your sending domains in SENTD
  • Configure SPF records for your domains
  • Set up DKIM signing (we handle this automatically)
  • Implement DMARC policies

5. Monitoring and Enforcement

5.1 Automated Monitoring

We use automated systems to monitor for:

  • Spam content and patterns
  • Malware and phishing attempts
  • Bounce and complaint rates
  • Unusual sending patterns
  • Policy violations

5.2 Investigation Process

If a potential violation is detected:

  1. We may temporarily suspend sending while we investigate
  2. We will notify you of the issue and request information
  3. You must respond within 48 hours with an explanation
  4. We will make a determination based on the evidence

5.3 Enforcement Actions

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, we may:

  • Warning: Issue a formal warning for first-time minor violations
  • Rate limiting: Reduce your sending capacity
  • Temporary suspension: Suspend sending while issues are resolved
  • Permanent termination: Terminate your account for serious or repeated violations

Serious violations (spam, phishing, malware, illegal content) may result in immediate termination without warning and without refund.

6. Reporting Abuse

If you receive spam or abusive emails sent through SENTD, please report it:

Please include the full email headers and any relevant information. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action.

7. Policy Updates

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
